Essec USA needs YOUR involvement

Where are you located: Anywhere
When did you graduate: Any year
Which school did you graduate from: Any school, not only the Essec MBA

Essec USA is looking for the best of the best, those who are ready to give some of their time to the Essec Business School and its alumni in the US. Time is a precious commodity for us all, and we will work with you to find a role tailor-made to you for as much as an hour a month, to a lot more than that.

Most of the activities can be done via email and phone.

To volunteer for any of the positions, contact Anne Stone (stonean@exchange.ml.com).
=== Chapter Leader New York ===
=== Communication Managers ===
=== Newsmaker Event Manager ===
=== Newsletter Co-Editor ===
=== Webmaster Co-Editor ===

Why would you be doing all of that? For the fun, the pleasure to meet new people, and be sure of one thing... whatever your commitment is, it's rewarding and will make a difference.

=== Chapter Leader New York ===

We need 1-2 people to organize the monthly gathering in NY as well as establish relations with local organizations.

What skills are we looking for: Someone who likes to entertain, and meet new people.
Someone not scared to come up with new ideas to gather the Alumni, and sometimes find him(her)self alone! This position requires at least to dedicate one evening a month, plus the time to organize the event. Ideally, a young chapter leader and a senior chapter leader would help draw all generations.

Why are we looking to fill that position: To improve the Essec Network in New York where most of our alumni are.

Location: New York / Tri State Area -- Sorry for this one we have no other choice!

=== Communication Managers ===

We need 1 to 2 people to coordinate our communication activities.

What skills are we looking for: Someone who is a source of inspiration for the chapters across the US and also communicate our activities outside of Essec USA. You will be supporting the chapter
leaders in their effort. You will also make sure that people outside the Essec are aware of what happens in the US; Alumni in other countries, students, school.

Why are we looking to fill that position: A lot is happening in the Essec community, we need to get the word out!

Location: Any location is possible.

=== Newsmaker Event Manager ===

We need 1 person to coordinate our 3rd Annual Event in New York City.

What skills are we looking for: You are ready to build and motivate the team of volunteers to make sure the 2004 event will be another success. You have a good sense of humor, you consider yourself a "jack-of-all-trade" ready to coordinate the location search, the program printing, the invitations, ... You are not sure you are up to the challenge: you are an Essec after all and your work is supported by a whole team. Between Sept and Apr, you will have some rush hours and less and less quite time.

Why are we looking to fill that position: We have an impressive base from the first two events and some fresh blood will give us even better results.

Location: Because the event is in NY, we would recommend the tri-state area.

=== Newsletter Co-Editor ===

We need 1-2 people to work with Michel Gulick on our monthly newsletter. Helping with the newsletter involves collecting and editing information about the Alumni in the US, and the Essec community in general, ensure that we have a monthly interview. A great opportunity if you want to better know the people in the Essec organization.

What skills are we looking for: Willing to dig for information, contact people when needed. Technical knowledge a plus but you can do without it (or you can learn on the fly if you wish). Good level in English and writing skills are preferred.

Why are we looking to fill that position: First to ensure a regular newsletter and to support Michel. Second and foremost to enrich the content with new topics.

Location: Michel is located in St Petersburg (Russia) and so everything is done over the internet!

===Webmaster Co-Editor ===

We need 1-2 people to work with Stephane Audoynaud on our website. Helping with the website involves organizing the website, in relation with the newsletter, updating links.

What skills are we looking for: You have ideas about how we can improve the website and you are looking to spend a few hours here and there to implement those ideas. A technical knowledge is a plus but Stephane can also help you on that.

Why are we looking to fill that position: First to support Stephane and ensure constant quality of our website. Second and foremost to make the website more dynamic and answer better to new needs. After all, a website is worth it only if it evolves.

Location: Stephane is located in Paris (France) and so everything is done over the internet!

Thank you,

Three New International Agreements for the ESSEC MBA

In keeping with the logic of its MBA positioning, ESSEC is moving forward with new international partnerships on this level. The objective is to strengthen the network of over 60 agreements that already exist throughout the world by targeting the best institutions in each country.

It should be remembered that institutions like Kellogg Business School (US), Chicago School of Business (US), Bocconi (Italy), Keio University (Japan) and Mannheim University (German) already form part of this network. Full list.

The three new agreements that have just been signed are with:
- Instituto de Empresa (Madrid)
- Solvay Business School (Brussels)
- Luiss (Rome)

These agreements are for the exchange of ESSEC MBA students (grande école) with students of well-reputed MBA programs. It should be noted that, in keeping with the strategy that consists in positioning the ESSEC program at the MBA level (for which it was accredited by AACSB in 1997), ESSEC students attend MBA courses in universities as selective as those mentioned above. Other projects will see the light of day in the near future.

ESSEC Business School receives EQUIS Accreditation

As part of a policy to pursue the development of its international reputation, ESSEC Business School recently decided to apply for Equis accreditation, the European reference in management education. The entire process was carried out in a very short space of time, from January through June 2003. The Peer Review Team, a group of international experts in charge of evaluation, audited the Business School in May, examining, in particular:

> the quality of both general and executive programs,
> the research and faculty,
> the degree of internationalization,
> the quality of responses to the needs of the business world in terms of programs and activities.

At the end of what was an intensive effort, ESSEC Business School is pleased to receive Equis accreditation, a reward for the efforts of an entire team. The results are all the more satisfying for the rapidity of the effort accomplished and the compliments given by the team of auditors on the quality of the entire ESSEC offer. Thus ESSEC confirms its distinction in terms of international excellence in management education, joining the very select group of institutions in the world that benefit from both Equis and AACSB International accreditation.

Indeed, in 1997, ESSEC Business School was the first business school outside North America to receive accreditation from AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

EQUIS - the European Quality Improvement System – is an international system for evaluating quality and accrediting business schools, delivered by the European Foundation for Management Development (efmd). Since 1998, this organization has played an important role in the process of accreditation and creating a quality label recognized by all European institutions of higher learning in management. The Equis system aims to raise international standards in management education, while respecting the diversity of programs and institutions.
