Message from Anne Stone

In 1978, Antoine Treuille, who is still our Honorary President, incorporated the ESSEC Business School Alumni Association USA in the State Of New York. The purpose of the club, then, was to "organize activities among students and alumni of ESSEC in North America". Recently, Herve Blanquart created a new chapter in California to address the needs of the ESSEC.

Today, the main purpose of our alumni association remains to be the strengthening of ties among alumni residing in the United States. ESSEC USA alumni association has grown to 150 registered members. While an increasing number of students work in the US as trainees or interns and join our ranks for three to six months, most alumni stay here two to three years.

Working closely with ESSEC International and the management team of the Group ESSEC, we have defined the following three objectives for our local alumni club:

> Organize ESSEC alumni reunions to allow for networking and conviviality among our members

> Facilitate the hiring of ESSEC alumni in local corporations

> Assist in the orientation and integration of ESSEC newcomers in the US

Two years ago, Vanessa Barros (E88) and Eric Leopold (E97) created our web site. Both did a terrific job in establishing our presence on the net. Now that they have left the US for new working experiences abroad, Christian Betheuil (E95) has taken over the web master role and has enhanced our pages to help us achieve our objectives. I want to acknowledge his efforts and thank him for the long hours he spent crafting these new pages. He volunteered on this project with the genuine purpose of serving the needs of the ESSEC Business School alumni, and I am very appreciative of such a wonderful commitment to our community.

We want these pages to be of interest to all ESSEC Alumni and students wishing to find a job in the US, and also to those who already live here providing information about the school, the depth of its programs and access to its alumni network.

As we want these pages to be yours, please send us your comments so that we can enhance their content to better serve your needs!

Yours sincerely,

Anne Stone
