Guillaume Hannezo
Ex-Chief Financial Officer of Vivendi Universal

 

Guillaume Hannezo attended France's Ecole Normale Supérieure (social sciences section), has a law degree, a diploma from the Paris institute of political sciences (IEP), and is an alumnus of France's Ecole Nationale d'Administration.

In 1985, Guillaume Hannezo joined the French Ministry of Finance as a treasury official. In 1988, he was appointed technical advisor to the cabinet of Pierre Bérégovoy, who was Minister of Economy, Finance and Budget at that time. In 1991, he was appointed economics advisor to the French President's office.

Guillaume Hannezo moved to the private sector in 1993 as Director of Strategy and Management Control at Assurances Générales de France, where he was appointed Director of Finance in 1994.

In 1997, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Committee of Générale des Eaux, which changed its name to Vivendi in 1998.

He was Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Vivendi Universal based first in Paris and then in NY from August 2001 and after august 2002 became advisor to VU's CEO,transitioning with his successor .

Guillaume Hannezo's other roles included Vice President of the Supervisory Board of Viventures Partners, Director of Canal+, Director of Havas (formerly known as HMC), and member of the Supervisory Board of Vivendi Environnement.

Guillaume Hannezo is 42, married, and father of three children.
