Mark Abramson is a Senior Managing Director at New York based investment bank Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. He is responsible for the firm's equity research coverage of the hotel and gaming industries in North America, Europe and Asia. Mark joined the firm in 1994 to help cover Latin America, an assignment that included a temporary posting in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and earned a #1 ranking in the prestigious Institutional Investor survey for his research on the Latin American food industry. As part of the firm's expansion into Europe, Mark moved to London in 1999 where he initiated coverage of the hotel and leisure sectors in Europe. While in London he added coverage of the Asian hotel industry. In 2003 he relocated back to New York to take over the firm's top ranked North American hotel and gaming industry research in an effort to create a unique and comprehensive global research product. Mark earned his BA from Johns Hopkins University, his MA from American University and pursued post-graduate studies at the University of Maryland. Prior to Bear Stearns, Mark spent three years at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, DC.
